Reflection Chat

Transform your end-of-day review into structured insights with AI-guided conversation.

What is Reflection Chat?

Reflection Chat is Forge's core feature that turns traditional journaling on its head. Instead of filling out forms or staring at a blank page, you have a natural conversation with an AI trading coach.

The AI asks follow-up questions, helps you process emotions, and automatically extracts structured insights from your conversation — saving you time while creating richer journal entries.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Click the Reflection Button

Find the glowing button in the bottom-right corner of your dashboard. The AI sees your trades from today.

  2. 2

    Have a Conversation

Talk naturally about your trading day. The AI asks about specific trades, your emotions, and decisions you made.

  3. 3

    Generate Journal Entry

Click "Generate Journal Entry" and the AI extracts emotions, lessons, and a summary from your conversation.

  4. 4

    Review and Save

Edit the extracted insights if needed, then save to your journal. Your entry is linked to relevant trades.

Context Modes

Reflection Chat adapts to your situation with five context modes:

Pre-Trade

Planning your approach before entering a position

In-Trade

Processing emotions while managing an open position

Post-Trade

Reviewing a recently closed trade (default for end-of-day)

Weekly Review

Analyzing patterns from the past week

General

Free-form discussion about trading psychology

What Gets Extracted

From your conversation, the AI automatically extracts:

  • Emotions — Sentiment-tagged feelings (confident, anxious, frustrated, etc.)
  • Lessons — Categorized takeaways (execution, psychology, risk management)
  • Patterns — Recurring behaviors the AI detects over time

Tips for Better Reflections

  • • Be specific about what you were thinking during trades
  • • Mention emotions by name — "frustrated," "overconfident," "patient"
  • • Discuss what you'd do differently next time
  • • Don't hold back — the AI has seen it all
